Default Wrong Oil in my A6?

I was checking the AudiUsa Site the other day and saw the page that stated what engine oils are compatable with our engines. Approved by Audi. All I saw on the list was synthetics of various kinds. Problem is when I bought my car, I asked the service department what kind of oil they used for the oil change at 50K. The answer was chevron dino 10w-30. How much of a problem could this be? Was the car ran till 50K with syn than changed to dino? Car seems to be using a little oil, no smoking. I've had to add a half quart of oil after only 2 months of driving it. Thanks for you thoughts in advance.

Default RE: Wrong Oil in my A6?

I wouln't worry about it. Just make the switch to an approved synthetic oil. Half a quart every 2 months is normal.
