Default RS-4 early oil change?

Ok new to the forum, I have a quick question for the other RS owners. Audi calls for the first service at 5K and the cost covered. How many of you are changing the oil and filter at 500-750 miles? I have done this on just about all my cars as I had an issue with milling residue once.

And what oil are you all using, my personal favorite, AMSOIL European Car Formula.....

Oh by the way 1 week in 750 miles and the back road to Aspen is waiting!

Thanks for the replies,

Brian

bpesch, yes, 5k oil change is covered but I don't think there is anything wrong w/ checking/changing your oil/filter under 1000 miles. I just cracked a 1000 miles yesterday and everything is running smoothly. When I have my strait panel installed next week, I'm going to have them look over the whole car.
I probably won't do much until the 5k mark. However, they say you only need to bring it in once every 10k following....synthetic is great, but not that great. I will continue to bring mine in every 5k. Not sure on the brand of oil but after consulting w/ my RS tech's--I'll make a decsion and we can compare notes. Hope this helps?

I changed my oil at 500 miles after breaking in the motor hard. It came out clear and orange (unexpectedly, actually - I thought it'd be much darker).

I think you can probably change at 3000m as usual. I would personally change it at 2500 and every 2500 after, but I'm a bit of a freak like that.

I hate those 5000 mile oil change lubricants that are now on the market. From what I've read up, some of the chemicals they put in it to make it last that long can slowly hurt your engine; it's never good to put your engine through that much stress. It's always a good idea to change the oil right after you drive the car home from the dealer after pickup. Flush out any stray materials that could have found it's way into the oil galleries/pan whilst building the engine. But... too late now. Anyways, if I were you, especially with an RS4 which the engine is already high strung, change the oil a little more frequently than 5 grand.
