Both my low beam headlights on my 2003 A6 2.5 TDI have recently expired [have checked fuses etc. - all aok]. Can you help me to gain access to the lamps to replace them. The handbook says "refer to dealer" - that usually means a minimum of an hours labour just for the privilege!!!

did they both go out at the same time? usually that means there is a problem with the switch, not the bulbs.

Hi Jestnomen

Both went out almost at the same time but the units themselves are cloudy and grey which makes me suspect that the units have gone but I hear what you say about the switch. It actually happened while the car was being driven which makes me tend to rule out the switch. However, what are the odds that 2 low beam units blow at the same time without something causing it hmmmppphhh!!!

You may want to bo invest in a cheapy 12 volt tester or a multimeter. Check to see if the headlights bulbs are getting 12 volts, it not then it's a switch problem. The low bean projector is suppose to be cloudy as it's like a magnifying glass, you should not be able to see the bulbs by nature. Hope you sort this out!
