Default The "Tornado" - that infomercial thing

I dont know if you guys have heard of it, but back in the day, they did those infomercials for the "tornado." A friends dad was askin' if it really did anything. I know that those people are probably full of sh*t, but does anyone have a more intelligent comment I could tell him (particularly on increasing gas mileage). Thanks.

In theory, maybe, but I kinda dout it. Back in the 60's some of the auto makers started casing vortex generators into there intakes, heads, etc. The biggest problem was that the magority of them took up a good deal of the runners so the total flow was redused, the idea was to create trubulance in the runner right befor the air/fuel mixture entered the cylender, but the gains never quite made up for the consept, other than that I really don't know that it does anything, I mean, when was the last time you saw a race car with the tornado on it. if it did what they claim, the teams would be all over it.
