Default What is this part called?

Does anyone know what the protective plastic cover that goes undernear the front of the car (when oil is changed, it is removed) is called? It's probably around the size of the hood of a car but goes under it. It fell off my car when I was on the expressway. My guess, it got loose by the winter season as I went through snow with the AWD.. I have an A6 by the way..........anyone know?
