Default A3 and the Line

Judging from what I have read from all of your posts so far, I have to say that I have never owned a car with this much torque or HP. I find myself wanting to blow people off the line every chance I get. I am trying to be quite conservative in this first 1500 miles as the manual says, but have made the car move a few times before that period. Quick question, is that bad for my engine?

i have just over 1000, i've pushed it pretty hard, didn't do it much until about 800 miles or so, but my last car, a toyota i ran to redline within a couple hundred miles of owning it. never had a problem with the car either. and that one had a 8300rpm fuel cut.(matrix xrs)

You'll be fine. Just try and take it easy until the engine breaks in. It actually will take the first 5k miles or so before everything seats well. Just avoid running at high rpms, especially for a long duration. Short bursts won't have that much impact at all.

You'll see your fuel mileage improve over the first several thousand miles too.

Thanks,
I have seen my fuel mileage already improve, but how high is high. I don't go any higher than 75 or 80 on the highway at maybe 3100 RPMS. Is that okay?

I have broken in a lot of engines and never hurt one yet getting on them from day one.
I did suspension, full exhaust, APR 93 and a K&N before 1000 miles on my A3. Never a day where red line is not approached. Car has 11,000 now and not a tick. (Other than APR issues). I change synthetic oil every 3000 to 5000.
Stop Techs finally go in Wednesday.
I was SMOKED on I95 by some Dodge Neon / Stratos? We rolled along at 80 and when we hit it I was left in the dust! Man I was humbled. Car had been worked on. He had to have a NOX system. Scary thing was watching him break for traffic ahead. He was all over the place. I'll take the German Quality every time.
