Hello all you lucky RS owners...quick question from a B5 S4 guy...just got done watching some vids of the RS4 and I want one...won't be able to afford it for another 20 years, but still....

anyways...only thing I don't like is the steering wheel...have any of you switched it out to the Euro version? is it possible? if so, how much and do you have any pics?

i haven't done it because i found one but the dood wanted almost $1,500?! that's alot of money not to go any faster!! plus i don't know if the airbags are the same (US vs. EU). and dunno if the "S" button on the steering wheel can be hooked up because we have ours on the center IP (suppose on a S4 you don't have to worry about that). plus you'd loose the radio/bluetooth fone/volume controls.

i understand that a version of this flat steering wheel will be making its way into 07/08 US spec audis (already on US lamborghinis) so i would wait for those to begin dumping into ebay. much cheaper that way. and besides, the bottom of the euro RS4 wheel is not metal; it's painted plastic. weak.

tsunami...I have to correct your spelling on one of my favorite words....its DUDE not dood. HAHA! masterk, read what I wrote about the flat bottom wheel in an earlier thread. At work right now so I don't have the time to hunt for it but its not too far back fyi. I would keep the US wheel for a lot of the same reason tsunami mentioned plus what I wrote earlier. Its actually not that bad, just doesn't have the same appeal. I thought the same thing when I heard of the wheel change but, after seeing it and driving...I'm sold on the US model. Read my earlier info--for the umteenth time. LOLOL!
