Default Newb question...

Ok, well this is rather embarrassing, but I don't know how to find out... I recently bought my 2002 A4 3.0 Quattro and don't know if it has the sport suspension or not. I was going to buy it with or without it so it wasn't a main concern at the time. I would like to know if it does or not and how do I go about finding out.

Thanks in advance guys!

Hi BurnRicers

When I got an A3 2006 from Audi in front of the Audi service schedule book
There is a list of optional equipment codes......... now maybe one or two
of these codes are for suspension ?
Have you got this book if so have a look
btw I DO NOT KNOW what the coded.. letters/numbers mean
good luck with your search

the later car has variable suspension depending on how you drive and is electronically controlled, sport suspension is old hat these days so don't go and embrace yourself at the dealer ( look it up ),

I'm in the same boat here. I recently bought an '03 A6 4.2L, and have been a bit disappointed in the handling after trading in a '98 BMW 528. The power is great, and I'm happy with the all-wheel drive, but I just wish it handled more like the 5 series. So, I'm guessing I don't have the sport package. I noticed it was a little soft during the test drive, but must have just been blinded by the excitement of the 4.2. Anyway, my first upgrade is going to be the suspension. Any suggestions on how to get that perfect ride? I liked how heavy the ride in the BMW felt. It was firm, but at the same time cushioned over hard bumps. A couple of buddies have mentioned Eibach, but I don't know what combination of springs, absorbers, sway bars, etc. I'd would need to get that ride in the Audi. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Code threadto lookat if you have the maintenancebook handy. http://www.audiforums.com/m_81271/tm.htm

The 1B* code should tell you which suspension you have.

1BE sports suspension/shock absorption-- For the win!
