Does anybody know of a company that sells wheels (rims) painted to match the color of your car? Mine is Ming Blue. Don't want the whole wheel (rim) painted just the inside rim area. Has anybody done this before? Any pictures? What are the biggest wheels (rims) I can put on my 2001 A6 2.8L Quattro? I'm thinking maybe 19's is the biggest I want to go. Will it still handle good with that size of wheels (rims) and tires. Buying a package deal would be the easiest I think.
Thanks Bob

It usually turns out ugly as sin.

I've never heard of a company that sells them painted, usually it's a custom job. 19's can be had, but you may have some fender rubbing. 18's fit very nicely. 18's and 19's may have a small decrease in performance. achtuning.com and hartmannwheels.com sell packages.

I've painted several sets of alloy wheels in the past to match (or contrast with) the body color. Sometimes it enhances the look and sometimes it looks like hell. In any event it's a relatively cheap way to differentiate your ride from others. A good body shop can do the deed with standard paints. Happy monochrome.

Well, as far as painting the wheels, there are alot of companies that can handle your request but it really depends on what you are looking for. Have you done any research as far as looking around at what other cars and trucks look like with painted wheels?
There is a good source for reading such as Dub magazine and Rides Mag that show pictures of various cars and trucks with painted wheels on them.
In regards to size, I went with 18" Decorsa's and 235/40/18" tires. I bought these rims based upon not seeing these rims before on any Audi in the southwest. When you get a chance check out there website at decorsa.com, they also offer a pair of black ones and you will know what I mean when you see them. 19's will fit no problem but as the rim size increases the side wall of the tire decreases and that will change the type of ride from luxury to total go kart. I still wanted the best of both worlds. The right look,a luxury ride but also wanted to be in touch with the road a taste. One hint though, whatever you do, do not lower the car before getting the rims and tires on the car first. If you buy the rims you can then lower the car correctly to match the size of the rims and that is the right way to do it.
