Default reverse problems? A4 cabriolet

has anyone had trouble with reverse in the a4? We have to rev the engine to 3-4 just to get it to move in reverse. can anyone tell me why?[:@]

clutch bands worn ( I assume its an auto ) and AWD is right for more answers
