The worst purchasing and after-purchase experience of my life with any product at any price. They lied about dealer incentive amounts - Ok, you guys will say I should have found that out for myself before I went in. Brought car in for minor repair after two weeks they substantially damaged the paint job. Trying to fix it they made it much worse. Their attitude? Service people look desperately unhappy as they explain that they wish they could do something but can't. Their only option is to quit their jobs. Anything that I didn't walk out with at the time of sale but was promised in writing - I had to come there ten or fifteen times until they realized I was going to be there every day and finally they bothered to resolve one or two items that took fifteen minutes but cost me weeks of stress and trips there and refusing to leave. From being there during those stressful waits, I overheard many, many conversations with customers who felt violateed and mistreated and were pulled off to the side or taken into the back to beg and plead with callous and heartless representatives of the dealership who dismissed their claims and left them fuming. This place is the most perfect stereotype of a heartless and deceptive dealership where you will get mechanical and exaggerated smiles and handshakes like you are loved until you buy the car. After that you are treated like garbage - that is an understatement. When I asked to make one particular change after the sale - let's be clear, it was a change that was up to their discretion to make - I was given a price that was so high that it was seriously insulting. Other dealers confirmed that there was no cost involved to my dealership it making the change, just a willingness to be helpful - when I swallowed my horror at the price and returned the next day to pay it - I'm not talking hundreds -I was told that the price had gone up and that I should come back yet again the next day. At that point I asked what the possible highest price would be and the manager looked off into space and spoke in general terms like Tony Soprano about the unlimited upside possibilities of the price and why I had no power in the matter. These are people who go so far beyond awful and egregious that I am beginning to judge all Audi cars by their behavior. If Audi allows a dealership like this to continue, then they just don't care. By the way - everyone I have spoken with who has an Audi in this area immediately knows which dealership I'm speaking about before I say the name. They are known for their immoral, unethical and deceptive behavior. And the damage to my car - which I find very upsetting - they act as if I am talking about something imaginary until I bring them over to look at it. I watch their face show a few moments of guilt and horror and then they go blank and begin telling me that there is nothing they can or will do about it. I would have paid thousands more to have dealt with decent and ethical people. If you buy here prepare for serious and extended heartbreak. If you think that a car dealership can't break your heart then step up for a new experience.

I have been to Prestige Audi several times for service and I always have good experience. I did not purchase my A4 there; every time I call to schedule a appointment, I always request a loaner car and they have one ready for me ... which is great and convenient for anyone's schedule. My service advisor Beatriz is great, she always follows-up with me and is always determined to make my visit pleasant, fast and right the first time. I did have an electrical issue which required me to bring my car in 4-5 times and she had the shop foreman talk with me and he repaired my car personally. Even though it was frustrating for me and I am sure for her, she made every effort to find the issue and resolve it.   I am not to sure about they're sales department, but service there is A+.

I hear you...

This is pretty funny. I just went to Prestige this weekend to check out the A4's on sale. I spoke to a guy called Brandon (nice guy...) and then he introduced to a stereotypical scumbag used car salesperson that would "help" me.

I own a Hyundai and my experience buying a Hyundai was excellent. All of the transaction was done over email and it took me 30 minutes to take possession of my car. I felt that buying a higher-end car would be a much more pleasant experience.

This is where I am completely wrong...

1. I am buying used because the first year devaluation of an entry-level luxury car is ridiculous - almost 20% in some cases. I have decided to get an 07 or 06 CPO.

2. The salesperson (named Alex) was extremely pushy about me getting financed through Audi (he is obviously getting a spiff from them) that he was very annoying... almost arguing with me that my decision to go with my credit union didn't make sense. MORON!!! I don't care for Audi's financing. I had such a bad experience getting approved for financing with Ford that I decided to never get financed by a bank owned by an automaker. I remembered the finance manager of the dearlership telling me when I was getting a Ford Focus that he was going to get me the 0% financing... Ford Credit explained to me that the threshold to get 0% was 650 score (which I was way above), but no... they told me that the "best" they could do for me was 15% - I told them I wasn't applying for a credit card... thanks but no thanks...

3. The dealership clearly has their "preferred" cars they want to move as the salesperson wouldn't "find" the key to any other car.

Seriously, I felt like I was at one of those "buy here - pay here" dealerships... the whole experience was a disaster and I would never buy a car from these idiots.

I feel kinda bad because the internet sales manager seemed corteous and knowledgeable but since this was a used car sale he passed the baton to a scumbag salesperson.

my .02 cents

I think the internet guys are just there to lure you in...they never handle the actual sales.
I had a similar experience where the Audi interent guy lied about what was in stock. (even verifying the VIN number as the car I saw in the online inventory) Once I got there, no one ever so much as acknowledged that I came for a specific car and was given a reference # by the internet guy. They absolutely ignored me when I asked to see the car I came to see.  I wrote Audi and never heard a word in response.

I wish I had read this a long time ago.. my experience with this dealership were the same as the original poster.  NEVER ONCE was I offerred a loaner vehicle. NOT ONCE.  I complained EACH TIME - and ONE TIME I was offerred a rental.  When I returned to pick up the car - I left the rental - only to get a call from the rental company to pay the bill!  WHAT?  This when I was promised during the sale and their voicmail claims to have a loaner fleet.  I paid for my new 2002 TT there cash!  No lease, no financing.

Workmanship on repairs was horrendous - and - I too overheard numerous clients complaining.

This place is a scam house.  You may not get your car back with the parts it arrived with - while I can't prove anything - 3 times parts went missing on my car which I didn't immediately notice when leaving (who looks under the hood to make sure a dipstick is there?  I never had to do this before - with this dealership - you MUST).

I also discussed the issue with a former employee now another dealership where I purchased my A4 and was told the managers at Prestige provide a directive to make as much money per client as possible - to cut corners wherever possible so as to cut costs - she left because she coudn't deal with the unethical behaviour any longer and having to deal with client complaints and lying to them when she knew the truth.  She spilled her guts when she saw me at the new dealership - I didn't even HAVE to ask.

Service managers routinely LIE - take no responsibility for scratches or issues (I had the EXACT same issue with my car as the poster above!  Workmanship was horrible - and Audi National does not take on issues of Workmanship - and will not provide any information on dealer complaints (though we all know they must track them).  Audi Certified Dealer only means that the dealer paid to send mechanics to Audi training.  It does NOT guarantee that those mechanics will do work on your car - NOR that the workmanship is in any way guaranteed.  This per the the Audi Help Line that I called after the last three services at this dealership.

After my first complaint I was pulled aside by the manager and asked why I complained - and didn't I realize this would hurt their dealer rating.  God I hope so - I replied.

See my post under Prestige audi, miami Fl for more of my experiences including not honoring reapir work, not performing repair work that was stated, problems immediately following repair work, missing parts following service, and completely lying about the auto condition when under warranty - saving all work for more lucrative "client payment" services.

Is it time for another 20/20 episode on Audi?  I think so.
