a week to figure that out lol how embarrassing that must be, with VAG it would take 1 minute and to reset it

not while its under warranty mate let them pay for it, its a good idea to get the VAG for any future work when the warranty runs out and you could earn a little by clearing the CEL of other peoples cars

First you say the dealer doesnt know what is wrong with it, then you go on to say they said it was key recognition
so therefore they told you what is wrong with it...

Its an immobilizer problem, you should look on your dash after the car dies, there will be a yellow symbol that looks like a car with a key on it

Hi AudiTech04,
they really don't know what they are doing. They Think this is the problem, it is basicly a trial and error, they said we don't know what is wrong with the car but will try to fix it by reseting and changing parts. That why i asked for advise here.

Ohh i forgot to mention something , a day before this problem happened the battery on the key was dead and replaced it with a new one, i simply took the battery out and installed a new battery. No magic here right!!!

Replacing the battery for the remote wouldnt have any effect on the immobilizer part of the system

And what about the flashing symbol in the cluster, do you remember that ever coming on?

I went to the garage and told them about the immobilizer thingy, they told me the problem is something related to ECU. so i will wait and see if they will fix this.. they said it will take 2 weeks!!!!.
