age of car nothing more, I went through this once before on one of my cars and only difference was the pins to the ECU ( one had more than the other ) but if its the same amount of pins you can use it the software is probably more up to date depending on which is the newer

so your saying year only. nothing to do with stick or auto ? i'm assuming stick & auto ecus are not the same......

both the same actually but the tranny has its own ecu

as long as the engine ECU has the same pin outs its the same baring a couple of months, done get confused with tranny ECU its totally different

so the fuel maps etc... are identical for stick & auto ecu's ?
also what about fwd & awd ?

they are different ECUs and there are a few , standard fwd manual has one and the rest go figure
