Default Weird Noise on Cold Startup

Hey I got my 2006 manual a3 2.0T this past summer. It has been fantastic so far, but now that it is getting colder he in MI it has been making a weird noise. Around 50 F in the morning when i start it and until it warms up (needle in the middle) it makes this intermitent scratchy sound. Like sandpaper rubbing together lightly. It never did this before. When I open the hood, it is coming from the upper left corner by the belt. I looked to see if it was hitting something but I didnt see anything. Remember, it goes away after the car is at temperature. Any thoughts? Anyone else encounter this? If I dont hear anything definitive I think I'll take it into the dealer next week. Thanks for the input.

its a new car so dealer should be your first choice, it could be the AC if it was turned on?? personally I don't think its anything serious though, for peace of mind take it in under the warranty

No I turned the AC off, that wasn't it. The dealer can't get it in to look at it until late next week. Should it be a problem to keep driving it until then?

not a problem your covered by the warranty and the word of the dealers ( they said it cant be checked till next week they didn't say the car could be driven ) drive it and don't worry they have to pay for any damage because they didn't say not to drive it and that's where your protected by law
