2001 A6 Service
I just got new Audi plugs and wires installed by my local non-audi mechanic. the Service warning just came on. Does this just come on at a predetermined mileage or is the car actually sensing the need for servicing? I can change oil on the car myself, but what oil is the preferred type? Can anyone tell me how to reset the Service message?

RE: 2001 A6 Service
It comes on at a set mileage and has to be turned off. There are some directions floating around here on how to turn it off but not a single one of them worked with mine.

Mobil 1 or Castrol Synthec are good. Mann/Mahler for filter. There is a bunch of info if you search in the forum too. Good luck!
