Default Speedo/odometer question

Gday from oz, i have a 2000 1.8t. was wondering if you can disconnect the odometer without affecting the speedo and how would you do this?

hmm...for what reason do you want to do this???

I suppose you could if you found the right wire. There are 4 plugs on the back, of which I have no wiring diagrams for.
