Default Offset set up for my A3

Hey all I'm looking to get rims for my A3 and Want to stager the tire size. I want to do 18x8 in the front but want to know if 18x9 or 10 is going to let me put a larger tire size in the rear. I know 225/40/18 is the fit for the front but would 245 or 255 work in the rear? Oh and what off set would I have to use to let them fit proper. I have a 1.4 drop front and 1.5 drop rear. So a proper tuck would be the ultimate goal. Anyone do this yet? or know the proper set up? Thanks for any help.
