Use the search tool and you will find plenty of posts. It's too early in the morning for me to think about BOV's. [:@]

even if they dont, u can go universal, HKS SSQV has a uni, just will need welding.

I've heard BOVs and the 1.8ts dont play nice together, is this true?

a bov will damage your engine if you put it on

bov is a nonooonoooo and its ricer even though i kinda like it ....try doing a airbox mod....also if you add an intake i think it may help the sound but ultimately no power gained from it...im a newb so just my 2cents

that question is like taboo here. u cant put a bov on an audi without quite a few modifications because it has a close loop turbo system. do the airbox mod, upgrade the diverter valve(not BOV) to a forge 007 and it should be more audible. still you gota remember the k03 has the power of like a hair dryer. its not gona be that loud. i have a k04 with intake, dv, test pipe, and exhaust and mine is pretty loud

i have an 01 audi s4 2.7 t with 2 hyperboost DV's and intke and its pretty loud youll never get the bov sound but like everyone said bov's are nono's cause of our turbo setup

Actually if you are hell bent on a BOV there is a fairly easy way to use one. Both greddy and HKS make resurculations kits for there BOV. SInce the HKS SSQV is about the loudest i've ever heard(also its one of the best BOV you'll ever find because of its design) you could have the SSQV put on and then install the HKS resurculation kit. It will serve the purpose of teh Diverter valve and you can say you have a BOV on your Audi. As far as it being louder, I don't know! i never meet some one who had enough money or enough free time to do it. Cause it's kinda pointless but whatever makes you happy.

isnt it true that DV's are better then BOV's -due to boost?

ArabianOnMescaline

my friend told me that DV'S are better than BOV'S because it sends the air back to the engine instead of "blowing it out" so you dont lose anything. just what i heard, is it true?
also he he what is the cost of a nice DV for K04's?

I have a 2007 Audi A4 Turbo and I wanted to put a BOV but i don't know which one is a good one or even if it is good to put one on. I hear from different people that HKS is good but i am also reading some comments that i shouldn't put one on. What should I do?

Ran perfect for many months with the forge 004. If will run perfect. The only reason im not running it is because forge gave me a splitter to run. For more info on the splitter, see sig and sticky in a4 section.

nono A4 BOV they have forge but is crap just sounds wierd
you need eurocode DV because the stock one blows eazy
put 3" ATP intake and it sounds better than BOV
but first do the chip

CincyTT is relating information that he has gathered from personal experience and testing not something he "learned" from a forum.

The splitter only vents 10% of the air and you cant run the valve any other way besides 100% recir.

i have to add to this even though it is old, what is so bad about putting a bov on an audi instead of a dv, what problem does it cause, cause i have had no problems for a year now since i started using a bov.i guessthe real question is what problems doesa bov cause, compared to a dv?

WTF are u guys smokin? A 2001 can have a bv added safely on as it has the ability to adjust for the air blown off. The 2000 does not.

the only reason our cars have a closed looped system and diverter is to keep them car quiet

that and any idiot can install another dv and not have to worry

Hey guys I have the APS BOV that bolts right up for VW/AUDI re-circulating so you don't have the stalling out issues many BOV's make. retails for 250 but I need the cash, brand new for 100 shipped. Brand new never installed

Seen this many times on a variety of VAG cars, results vary. One car we dynoed was making 30 bhp less with the BOV as opposed to the recirculating.
The problem being that the system is a closed loop system where air is recirculated internally, so the system monitors airflow in and out, when you vent this from a vent to atmosphere DV this air goes out unmonitored and the system will think either there is something wrong or make the wrong compensation losing power.

then you guys deffinatly were using the wrong bov ;)

A twin piston bov like a forge 004, baileys, samco sport, tial 50mm, or even a HKS ssqv wont cuase any problems or rob the car of power

WE weren't using the wrong BOV, this was already fitted by the customer, so he was ;)

Some of the systems don't compensate as well as others so it's always bad to generalise.

since someone does something wrong, you can lump everything simular together.

John@DNA
12-31-2007, 02:43 PM
In the same way you've just lumped all 1.8T's together.

uummm what? I didnt say they all were. I said a certain part would work.
