Default 00 2.7t vs. 01 2.7t Please advise me .....

Im considering buying an A6 either the 00 or 01 2.7t with manual transmission.

Is there any major difference between the 2 models ?

Also do I really need one with the sports suspension or the standard good enough ?

Is there anything I should look out for the resale value seems to be low on older models..

I drive aggressively once in a while when I need to.

If you get an 01 with a date of manufacture after 11/00, you will have slightly different turbos (larger oil lines). That's desirable, but not a deal breaker. The sport package is definitely the way to go if you can get it. Upgraded wheels, sport seats (larger bolsters -- generally preferred unless you're very large), and an upgraded suspension that you'll appreciate when you do drive in a spirited manner.

Get the lowest mileage you can. This lessens the impact of the unknown (e.g., previous owner not taking good care of the turbos, not running good oil, etc.).

I agree with southboro, go for the lowest mileage. But test driving is important to me also. See if the car feels good or if it feels strange. If they both feel good low miles and how many previous owners of the vehicle (if you can find that out). Things like that. Once your comfortable then can do the '00 vs '01 options battle. Good Luck.

Good advice on the later than 11/00 models for the updated oil line.

If you can swing it the 02 models have improved suspension, glass, and a few interior goodies.

I had an 01 tip and have a 2002 6 speed. The road noise difference on the highway is very noticable.

My 01 wasn't sport but my 02 is so I can not compare the two, but the sport suspension is nice to have.

My 02 6 speed is in the classifieds BTW, I just purchased an allroad.

Suspension did not change (sport suspension became stock) until '03.
