upon smelling burning plastic,I just had to dig out a melted heated seat switch out of the dash-it seems that the dial and switch are contacting some heat source whenever the car is on-i pulled out the dial and it still is hot when the car is running--any remedies???--beyond going to the local dealer and getting robbed--its a A6 1995 4door sedan<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley11.gif border="0">
