can i use goo gone on my black a4? is it going to dull the clear coat? does anyone have any other suggestions?

Dont do it! Its ok for glass, like if you want to remove sap or something, but I personally would keep it off the clear coat surface. try a product called 3M tar/ adhesive remover.....Excellent product....What are you trying to clean ?

Seems like a lot of people ask about it to remove the adhesive left behind when removing the badges or emblems.

it will be fine. I did it on my a4 and its black too and it was fine. It just left the spots were it dripped a little rough not dull.

Goo gone sounds like a liability! Use something requiring minimal follow up work, try 3M.

Ive used goo-gone on tar, works well. I use a quick detailing spray rite afterwards though and clean it up. never a problem.

I would not use goo-gone on a large area of the car. If you wish to remove oxidants and tar from your car, buy a claybar.

Foir small area like removing badge adhesive its fine.
