Default CEL P1136 came back

I had my 225TT for exactly one month now. It threw a p1136 code the first day I got it. I read up on it, and checked around my engine bay. I pushed all the vac connections together, I tightened all of the turbo couplings, and I cleaned the maf sensor. I have not had a problem since then, but this morning it threw the code again. I should have expected it, since I noticed a decrease in power while on WOT yesterday (limp mode I am guessing). I guess it just took some time before it threw a code. I am going to retrace my steps. The car has 37,000 miles on it, and without vag-com, I guess I don't know where to begin. I don't even know if it is at low or high rpms that it is occuring. I do not usually take it over 3500 rpm, i drive it normally, I don't know where to start looking next. Any other ideas???

Thanks.

Im not sure but I think that is a lean fuel code. Have you had any mods to the fuel system?

Lean fuel code is usually caused by a failing MAF.

It threw another code at me, p1128, absolute manifold pressure low, along with the p1136, which is fuel mixture too lean. I don't know if the combination of the two codes can help me pinpoint the problem better. A new MAF is only $125, but I would like to make sure I am not over looking anything before I go and order one. Like I said, I looked all over the net and the conclusion is the MAF or vac line leak, I just wanted to see if the 1128 code changes things?

No mods to fuel system.

Thanks

Try unplugging the MAF and take it for a run... if there is a change, it is most likely due to the MAF being bad. When you unplug it, the ECU will use default maps.

p1128 on my 2000 180 quattro was a bad maf, replaced it and the car felt like new

this definitly sounds like you have a bad maf

why not test the MAF, P1128-P1136 say hose/air leak but one way to find out without spending big $$$

If you take off the MAF and run it and there is a change should it be for the good or bad?

I will try that then. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. Just to clarify, if I unplug it and it runs better, that means the computer is using the default maps and it is the MAF. If it runs worse, that means that the problem is most likely located somewhere else. Should I clear the code first, last time I cleared it the car ran awesome for a month until it went into limp mode.
