Hey guys, I've been looking into a ~2000 Audi A6. and the crazy thing is most people, even dealerships are selling like 3-5k under bluebook! why is that? at first, i found a 2000 audi a6 (73k miles), nav, heated seats, sunroof, two sets of rims, with ext warrenty till 2008 for 12k, and i was like, wow what a steal, can't go wrong with warrenty! then i looked around some more and found some to be sold for 4 grand even cheaper than that?? the blue book for private party was already 14.5k. Whats the deal? Weren't these cars like 40k new or something?

Well, for one, always ALWAYS run a carfax.

For two, you'll find with many of the Euro high line cars that they are below KBB. Does this mean that they are a bad deal, good deal, or simply that KBB is WRONG?

Personally I think it is a combination of the three.

For one, people in general are afraid of buying European cars due to total cost of ownership. Because of this, we get great deals.

Also, I think KBB / Edmunds are also not quite that slick.
