Default 2006 A6

I recently bought an 06' A6 FrontTrack/CVT. However when I push on the gas pedal it seems to change gears. The RPM falls by almost 600-800 from 2200 to 1400. Is this supposed to happen. I owned a 2003 A4 CVT before this and did not have a similar experience. The dealership tells me that this is normal for the A6's and engines have changed. However I have realised that these guys are always suggesting that there is nothing wrong with the car ever.

Default RE: 2006 A6

Does it do it on all "gears?" My buddy drove a new CVT and said it felt they added shift points to it...my '02 CVT doesn't do that either.
