hey guys, i'm new to the board. i'll be picking up a 96 audi a4 quattro tomorrow. one of the first things i'll be buying for my car is an apline HU and their ipod add-on adapter. it seems like it's the most seamless way to integrate the ipod with a car stereo. anyway, that brings me to my question. do any of you guys have any pictures or ideas on where to harness an ipod in an audi. i'd really like to hide it securely in the glove box becuase i can control the ipod from the alpine HU. but i'm open to anything as long as it doens't look cheap.

I have the alpine HU and the ipod thing and it works great. It charges ur battery and u can control it thru the unit so my wires are all hippen and the ipod is in the glove compartment completly out of site. A few of my friends ven though i said i had it didn't belive until i opened it. U could also do AV inputs but it wont look as good. So its up to. And there is some chepa thing called like the neo ion (i think) and it will replce the cd changer plug and it will work both ways. PM if u have any specific questions.

ive got the same thing, but mine goes from the trunk under everything. how do you charge it?

mine plugs in to the dock connector and charges it from there. Of course it must have a slight battery charge left in ord to turn it on.

i'd like to put an aftermarket HU in my 98 a4...but with the bose system it sounds awesome already...AND, crutchfield labels it as a modified fit meaning you gotta buy extra stuff and i dont think ti would look that great. The current radio with the red letters and all looks great. Any of you guys have pics of your B5 interiors with aftermarket HUs?
