Spraying a lubricant on the assemblies is always ggod practice if your windows slow down and become sticky, but what you described sounds more like an electrical problem than a mechanical one.

This is a pretty common problem. A search on this would have revealed MANY discussions of this problem. I've written up answers to it a couple of times over the last month alone. Here's the scoop...

The window mechanism has built in pinch sensors. IF the windows detect resistance, they stop, and then back down. The window guides are prone to wearing out. When this happens, the increased friction is detected as a pinch and you see the exact behavior you're witnessing. There is a tech article on the www.audiworld.com web site that describes the problem and how to DIY fix it (including part numbers).

Good luck.
