Default what rpm

hello fellow audi owner.... My name is robs...i am 19 years old, i live in rowland heights ,Cai juss purchased a A3 2.0t 6speed manual, black on black s-line, open sky and navi system, thanx to Dan camouch at new port audi dealer for the great pricce.. My question is, whats a good rpm to shift gears at, i am shifting at 3000 for the first 1500 miles so i can break in my motor, but does anyone recomend a certain rpm after that 1500 miles????

some people shift at 2500 rpms even after 30k miles...i was told i short shifted my car when i shifted around 2300 rpms, now I push it to about 3200. Keep in mind I have an S4, but I am sure the 3.2 can handle what you have to offer. Just ease the engine into gears, and warm your car up before going.

I just bought the same car,with the addition of DSG,cold weather andtechnology packages.

As far as breaking the motor in;page 255 of the owners manual covers what you are looking for.
