Default 2001 Audi A6 Quattro

Hi, I am about to make a deal on Audi (2001) A6 Quattro 2.7T at $11,000. Overall it is in good condition and has 98,000 miles on it. Is it a good price? Any recommendations?

It depends.

You need to find out what the service history is on the car. At that mileage, the timing belt should have been done. If not, it'll cost you $1000 - $1500. The aux coolant pumps on the 2.7T's seem to bea pretty high failure rate item - that'll cost $500-$700. ABS control module? $250-$500. Tie rod ends? $250. Control arms? $300-$400. Prices could be much lower if you can DIY.

Also, keep in mind the turbos are very expensive to replace if they go. They seem to be OK if well cared for, but that's tough to know on a car with 98K.

If a bunch of this stuff has already been taken care of, that's a great price. You might want to take it to an indy shop - for 1 hour of labor they can do a thorough inspection and tell you any work that may be required. Even if you have to shell out a few dollars to fix some things, that's still not a bad price if the car is in good condition.

Almost forgot - I love my car! It's a 2000 2.7T with 94,000 miles, and I plan to keep it for a long time.
