I desperately want an RS4 but I need an avant. I know Audi doesn't import the convertibles or avants but how hard would it be to get one? What sort of federalizing would i need to go through (changes/costs)?

Well it must meet EPA standards for the year it was built and meed USA DOT safety standards for the year that you import it. Sorry but i don't know exactly what needs changed.

Try and find a company that does importing. It can be done with $$, figure to pay what the car is worth in modifications to make it legal.

Really the only people that have this done aren't the kind that post on forums. I think you would have money better spent on an s4 with a rs4 engine swap, if even possible?
