Default Air Bag Light

No Doubt thousands have asked this before, but I need a heads up on how to make an AirBag light go out on my 2000 A8. This is my third A8, but first air bag light. Purchased from MB dealership with only 62k miles, but it sat for a long time and they had to replace the battery...that might be the cause, I'm told, if they did it improperly. Radio works fine, but seems to me the throttle body/acceleration/kickdown situation is not quite right, and air bag light glows like Christmas. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Though many have probably asked this before, can anyone give me a heads up on how to turn off red airbag light? Just purchased 2000 A8 from MB dealer. It sat for a few months...they had to replace battery in their shop. Am told air bag light might be on if they did not replace it properly. Radio is ok. But tranny kickdown/acceleration is sluggish, too. Any connection. Otherwise, it's beautiful and only 62k miles. Thanks in advance.

Thanks...will try that....Any other precautions? Key on, Key off? Will this cause Radio reset? ( MB dealer lost books and the master keys, so I don't have the radio code.

thanks!

sorry for the multiple post...preview looked blank....they don't call us newbies for nothing, I guess.

Thanks so much.....just confirming...did you say that removing the neg for a few secondsWILL cause radio to reset and require radio code to make it operational again?
