Default A6 Avant wheels/lowering question

Hello friends,
I just purchased a 2000 A6 Avant Quatro for the better half and thinking about throwing some nice wheels/tires on it. Id also like to lower it a tad to fill wheel wells. Did a search and didnt find much on what people are using for rim sizes, tire sizes, and lowering techniques. I dont want to get real crazy with the pocket book, so with that info - do you guys/gals have any input? Thanks!

Default RE: A6 Avant wheels/lowering question

Well theres a couple options for lowering your car.

#1: You can order lowering springs, which replace your stock ones.
#2: You can get a adjustable coil overs, which you can then raise or lower your car whenever.

Then the not so good

#1: Cut or torch your stock springs shorter.
#2: Theres these lowering blocks that you bolt onto your springs, and it clamps it down. Not so good
