Custom 2.8 turbo??
lol yea he sure knows how to blow them up
ORIGINAL: BaconBait
The only reason it's not running rich or lean is due to the turbo pressurizing the air before the maf sensor and the low boost pressure. Who knows what rpm he checked the a/f ratio at.
Where's TomRitt at? We need him to do the testing. If he can't blow it up, no one can.

This is GreekA4's kit...he's on this forum. Not sure why he would sell it either. Tuning it would be well worth the money, but like other have said, the turbo intake would need to be moved, and some sort of skid plate for the turbo would be smart...to keep water and such away.

What makes no sense is that he has an "almost complete setup" all he "needs" is tuning for it. I find it unlikely that thats ALL it needs. If thats all it needs why wouldnt he hang onto it so he could have "the fastest 2.8 IN THE WORLD"???? I hate to diss this guy and his product, but there is something real fishy about it. You can see in the picture that the whole underside of the turbo is saturated and he tried to pawn it off at a reflection from his shiny garage floor.. Maybe its a little of both... Im thinking this may be a poorly designed custom setup that he wants to get rid of before it blows up in his face so he can recover hiscost. The whole oil return and lack of water cooling thing is not reasuring. Like I said, I sort of feel bad knocking this guys setup and killing the chances of a sale, but i feel like as a moderator i should make sure any 2.8 noobs are well informed and know exactly whats up. I still think its very cool though, i just would be extra extra cautious considering the amount of money. I just dont get how you can spend over $2k on a setup like that and not spend the extra money on a good tune to have a killer oneof a kindsetup. Maybe if he elaborated more on why he is selling it other than "family" reasons that would help.. But if youre trying to sell something like this youve got to be very descriptive and convincing on why exactly you want to get rid of it... Even if its personal/family related and is none of our business.

sounds like a whole lot of BS to me! to the person who has enough money to tune, find and make customs parts to this turbo setup will be a project. im just thinking about water gettin to the turbo and the tuning.
ive been talking to him threw ebay heres whats been said
All parts that were custom made are included. Standalone is not required for the low boost that this setup is running (6-7psi is the spring setting on the wastegate), and a probable hp level of 250-270hp. If you wish to run higher boost, then you will need software aka some sort of tuning or standalone. It does run on stock injectors smoothly, but upgrading might be desirable. What you could do is purchase a fuel management software with high volume injectors (recommended). All hardware like I said is included, and I will also include simple directions for installation. All these parts alone are well over 3000 dollars, including all the custom work done.

Seems like all it REALLY needs is a custom shield/skid plate that covers the turbo, and move the turbo inlet behind the bumper or something like that just like they did with the Twin Turbo STS system on Horsepower. Then I'm sure that an intercooler would be desired, so most of the boost piping would have to be redone. I would be more interested if I had a manual. The tiptronic just doesn't cut it...can't even get any boost while launching. Wait...I mean rolling off the line cause Tips don't launch, Haha
