Shifter Lights

I've searched through the archives and came up empty. Can anyone tell me how to get to the light bulbs that illuminate the shifter indicator in the center/floor console? Do I just pry up the plastic plate? Any tips would be appreciated. FWIW I have a 98 A6 Q wagon, 12V. Thanks
