Default Aftermarket Headunit

I wanted to replace the stereo system in my audi with an aftermarket one, but i was wondering if the driver's information display would still show the radio station/cd track...

I don't think that would be possible, because that info is sent to the display from the radio. So if you change the radio the new radio will not have a display output for that screen.

It wont. I replaced my audi head unit for an alpine dvd player, and It doesnt send information to the lil info center inbetween your gauges. hope this helps you decide. I think youll be okay without it tho, an aftermarket system is a must for me

Steering controls will be lost unless thecompany that makes that radiohas an adapter also. There are universal steering control units that you can purchase. They work with inferred leds that you will need to mount someplace that the radio can see it.
