Just test drove the Q7 3.6 and Mercedes R350. Next on the agenda is the new 7 seat X5, also same price point. Identically equipped, these 3 are nearly exactly priced on MSRPs! (about $54k, V-6, major options/packages: sunroof, NAV, rear camera, third row, power tailgate)
Audi - hands down better engine, less intrusive engine hum at cruise, die corner-meister - ya[sm=smiley20.gif], beautiful in/out, towing prowess, rear seat access - AAAACK[sm=WTFsgign.gif]
Mercedes - great seats all around, drives very car-like, low step in and easy access to 3rd row[:D], towing - fuggedabowdit! [:o] Engine is smooth too but power seams just adequate by today's standards, also engine noise is more intrusive under load.
I have four little kids all in car seats or boosters, so passenger space is important. This will be a second car to replace a 7 year old ML320. I need something that I can take the family out that has a little more class than the family hauler - Honda Odyssey Touring. If it can tow, that would be a big plus too, the ML is rated 5000 lbs, hate to lose that.
Anyone have experiences with little kids getting in/out that 3rd row?
