Default engine swaps, and 2.8l upgrades... experienced engine builders (especially)look..

ok a few questions that popped into my head... other than a supercharger there really is no aftermarket item that will boost my 2.8l engine that much. i was thinking ,since the 2.8 and 2.7t are almost the exact same engine (from what ive heard please correct me if im wrong) in terms of some general non-turbo related parts(again correct me if im wrong)...what if I took an exhaust manifold from a 2.7t, threw on some k04's (long story short) ran some piping , did aFMIC,commissioned some software upgrades for the ecu... would that work? or if the manifolds arent interchangeable what if i took an extra pair of 2.8 exhaust manifolds, andhad the ends made to accepta k03 or k04 ?if not why? what would be the problem in doing a swap to a 2.7t?the next idea i had was this...doing an engine swap from a 2.8 to a 4.2... I know that the compartment isnt exactly made for the v8 on the narrow body a6's but what other problems (aside from mounting(custom mounts) would i face? would the 5hp19 tiptronic transmission i currently have work with that motor? if not what if i used the transmissionmade for the 4.2, then what problems? lol I knowim making it sound alot easier then it is, and i apologize in advance for this and any stupid questions i may have asked, im just curious, and it would be good to know. (p.s. i know turbocharging my vehicle would require a rebuild with mileage such as 130k, andlabor cost would probably not be too much of a problem since i know an audi/vw/bmw specialist whos a goodfriend of the family, i just want to know what kind of work is involved.) thanks

as i said earlier, i have a specialist friend, so costs (aside from parts) theoretically wouldnt be too bad, cost aside, i want to know whats involved and what i will face.
