2000 Audi A6 V8 4.2L. Extended Warranty?
 

Hey Everyone.

I just bought a 2000 A6 4.2L V8. It's a very sweet car, comfortable, smooth, nice big engine (no problem doing 110mph, hehe [8D] ).

Anyway, I'd like to get an extended warranty for it. Do you know any companies that gave you really good (or bad) service?

I'm thinking about going with Warranties4Wheels. 4 years, unlimited miles, no deductible, all major components. Non-maintenance, non-cosmetic. $1800. Is this a good price/provider?

Welcome & congrats on the new purchase. You may want to do a search on "extended warranty" -- that way you'll get a good historical perspective (there should be PLENTY of returns on this query) instead of just the answers people provide here. Another place to query is the C5 A6 forum on audiworld. I know the issue has been discussed there many times.

You can't go wrong with Warranty-4-Wheels. I have their warranty. The "only" issue, is that you have to pay for service upfront and they will reimburse you. It takes them a couple of weeks for the money to get back to you. I have a 2000 A6 4.2L and it's already paid for itself as I had my water pump replaced as well as a few suspension issues taken care of by a local Audi dealership. Hope this helps.

@SouthboroAudiGuy: Thanks. I looked around the forums and some other sites. The main thing is most people tend to post when they have problems, rather than if they have normal/great service from a particular warranty :)

@Riley Escobar: Thanks! That's good to know. Their prices seem pretty good as well, so I'll probably go with them.

check the small print and see what your not covered on break pads-rotors/ clutch/ tyres/ timing belt/water pump/tensionerswhich is the most important

The AAA provides extended warranties that cover everything exceptlisted exclusion items. You have thebenefit of the burden being on the warranty company to identify where on the exclusion list the broken item is identified and the fact that the AAA has been around for 80 years and will likely still be around when the car breaks down.
