Default WHY? Can I?

I am getting ready to do an oil change on my 01 2.7t and found out that the previous owner put mobil 5000 5w30 in it. I don't believe it is synthetic. Is it possible for me to replace it with synthetic or will it mess it up?

Won't be a problem. Ichanged toMobil1 5W40 synthetic when I bought my 02 2.7T. Use an OEM filter (Mahle or Mann) which you can get from Pure Motorsports, ECS, etc. It's a good idea to replace the drain plug washer with every oil change.

You should be fine. I had my audi serviced a couple weeks ago at one of my friends shops and he put a synthetic oil in my car, even though i usually put non sythetic. the only thing is, once i get the car started and warmed up, i smell burnt oil for a minute or so, but then it goes away. But it shouldnt be a problem.
