I need some help decided what intake i should buy. The decision is between the Evo MS cold air intake for the 2.7t, and the AWE S-Flow. Also, with the cold air intake, what are the chances it will suffer from heatsoak? thanks...

S-flow, it goes in the stock airbox. The EVO intake pulls in hot engine air, since it does not have a heat shield.

Hey, thanks for all your help, but im still stuck on the Evolution MS cold air intake...2ks4, you said it doesnt come with a heat shield, yet on the website it says the intake does come with aluminum heatshields. Would these heat shields prevent the intake from sucking in hot air?

If that is what YOU want, then purchase it.

From what I know the EVO intake doesn't have a heat shield, they might have thrown one in, & I have no nothing about it.

bought both off an auction on ebay from some guy doing some crazy custom intake. The EVOMS does have a heat shield and a rain shield not to mention is LOUD on the boost. The only thing that bugs me is that the heat shield goes into the stock airbox grommets so it isnt bolted in or anything which makes it kind of flimsy.

The first generation EVO intake has a heat shield. . . but the setup isn't perfect, when you try to take your filter off to clean it you will see that it fets smashed when trying to take it out.... I have the evo kit, and other than cleaning it, I like it.

Listen to 2K S4. Go with the S FLo. The engine compartment of these cars really hold a lot of heat. The heat shields of these cold air intakes are useless. You will suffer from heat soak and you will lose performance with a open air/cold air intake.

OOOO

I just got my ABD intake yesterday. Its great but beware when your buying it, $269 quick flow is from MAF down. The $164 Big bore is from the MAF to the engine. I must not have read it right or its not detailed enough but I thought I was getting more than I got. Its still a very nice set up
