Two cleaning questions
Okay, I don't have an audi yet, but I am buying on in about 2 weeks. The person I'm buying from is by no means a clean freak when it comes to cars like me. So I'm sure when I buy it I will need to put a full day into detailing it. I have two questions.
1) This is kind of weird, but what is the best/safest way to clean the stock stereo? It is covered in fingerprints and just looks nasty. I'm thinking no more than a damp rag? I know moisture is not a stereo's best friend. 2) What's the best carpet cleaner to use? I mean for really nasty grime in the carpet? It looked like his daughter stomped candy onto the floor of the back seat? Thanks a lot, Mike |
RE: Two cleaning questions
Any auto interior cleaner is ok, I like Griot's.
For the carpet, use a carpet extractor, it's really the only way to get the grim out. A home carpet shampooer is ok, if it has a hand held extension. |
RE: Two cleaning questions
Use a 100% cotton towel and electronics `safe' anti-static cleaner (Kiwi Brands Endust™ for Electronics or Plexus® Plastic Cleaner, Protectant & Polish)
I’m repeatedly asked which product is the best[/i] interior cleaner. There is no one-product answer, as the so-called all purpose cleaners (APC) do not remove every stain, different stains require different solvents to remove them. Between these four cleaners you should be able to remove 99% of stains occurring in the interior of a vehicle and around the home – (a) 303™ Rug / Upholstery Cleaner & Spot Remover (b) P21S Total Auto Wash (a citrus-based all purpose cleaner (APC) (c) Woolite® Heavy Traffic Carpet Foam or Hoover Deep Cleansing Carpet/Upholstery Detergent (d) Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover |
