Default K04 Turbo

I'm looking to change my stock turbo in my 2000 A4 1.8T to a K04 but I was wondering if I can just bolt it in and if it would run on the factory ECU also I was wondering what is the best way to get alot of HP after that is in.

First, get a chip. You have a B5 so I suggest a GIAC chip. Then get a new DV

There are some websites that sell the K04 with software and injectors like Awe tuning

http://awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/p...&IL=AWEK04

If you do get a K04, get a FMIC and then you can get the Pc-16 file.

Wait, why am I saying all this, SEARCH!! Im sure there are plenty of posts about this. You can also look in the A4 section.

your car will run fine if you put in a KO4, just without software and whatnot you won't see any real gains. like scott said get some 310cc injectors a FMIC and some good ol' GIAC pc-16 tuning and you'll be a happy camper. thats probably the most power you are goin to get out of a KO4, if you want more then that then save up and go BT

i hope you guys are talking about the ko4-015. This wont be that much of a gain over the ko3s and not really worth the money. If you go with the ko4-2x from 225 tt you will see much better gain and worth the effort.

ko3s -> ko4-015 = ~10hp and 15-20 ftlbs
ko3s -> ko4-2x = 20-25hp and 30-40ftlbs

its worth the money if you go with a pc-16 file. if you're just slapping it on and not chipping then no, its not worth it, no turbo would be.

your paying like $700 for a larger turbine housing, last i check garret housings only cost about $100. Doesnt seem like a good trade to me. If they just sold the housing to convert you k03s into a ko4-001/15 it would be a much better upgrade. So borg warner should sell us just the housing.
