Default Scratches

I have a 01 A6 2.7T Tiptronic and I was wondering if anyone knows a way how to remove the scratches from the metal around the shifter (most arent that deep, however there are some good long scratches on there, mostly from dropping and leaving my keys on the metal). Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you it's really metal, very hard to remove the scratches.
I took it off & put it under my buffer, didn't really do much.

SO after that, I made it Brushed. Now, I never have to worry about it.
