I just bought a new RS4. It has 900 miles on it. This weekend I got it stuck in a bit to much snow.
I rocked it back and forth about 7-8 times to try to get it out and a burning smell filled the cabin.
I was able to move enough snow with my hands to get the car back on the road. I have put about 250 miles
on it since and there is still a faint burning smell when the heat is on and when I get out of the car.

More concerning to me is that the engine oil min light came on about 10 miles ago. Obviously I will call the service dept tomorrow but would appreciate any suggestions or comments.

I checked the oil it is pretty low. I read the other posts about the oil and will put
some in tomorrow.

The burning smell? Clutch? Will this wear off eventually? Did I burn the clutch up?
It seems to be working fine.

Thanks for the responses

every new car has burning smells like paint on the exhaust somewhere or seal coating they use for shipping across the ocean . in my case its just driving wild everywhere i go with smokey tires.

I recently had the dealeraddoil to my RS4 at around 4K miles, then took a trip to Vegas:) came back, drove a bit more in the city and wahhlaa! Oil min light came on again. So I'll take it in to the dealer and have them add more oil, took me 5 min. the first time, so I'm not worried about it. I got a feeling this car just burns oil quicker than most cars, no biggie, it's warranted.
