Default My APR Badge(red variation) pic

Okay, so I had my car chipped using the APR chip. I got an APR badge at the shop and I want to put it on. Im thinking itll go under the 2.7T using the same spacing as the "2.7T" and the "quattro" to go between "APR" and "Tuned". Now, the badge looks great as is, except I thought that all the black paint will drown it out, especially the lettering in "Tuned". Heres what I did:

This is only a first coat, but you get the iead, right? I figure itll be very subtle and stand out from the rest. This was a very easy thing to do. I used a small amount of Testors model enamel. This is the 1103 color red. This is the high gloss enamel. I put in a tiny bit of Testors thinner and used a tooth pick to get some paint on it and gently touch it to the inside of the letters. The paint droplet rolled off into the crevice and filled in about 1/4 of the letter or so. I dipped it in again and repeated the procedure with all the letters. As the enamel dries some black starts showing, you can see it in the letter D especially well, when you look carefully. As Ive said, its only one coat. I will apply 2 more layers of enamel. I'm also thinking of putting on one or two layers of clear, for some protection from the salt on the roads. We get a bunch of it here in NY and with the concave lettering it will gather in small pools and can ruin the badge. I just dont want to keep taking one off and making a new one once a year to replace the salt eaten ones. Ill let it air dry and let it sit for a week just to be 100% sure its all cured and ready to go on the car. The reason I picked out enamel is for longevity. Paint is considerably softer than enamel and enamel doesnt require any additional chemistry such as hardeners that can eat thru the plastic(im not 100% sure on that and I wont want to take the risk to come back to a melted badge on the table in the morning). Enamel is hard enough for a badge. It should stand well against dust and dirt and washes. I'll clean up the slight bit that got on the U and E later on, once its dried. So my main concern is the two sided sticky tape on the back of the badge, other than that, its all good. The one thing is if you want to do the same, youll need a very VERY steady hand, a soft touch and good fine motor control. What do you guys think?
