Do i have any options beyond the seperate head units, or is there some integrated system that can be used?

^^
i have the same question lol. I REALLY want to get XM but i want something that looks clean and is extremely clear in sound. I'm kind of skeptical of the whole "FM-transmitter" idea

i currently have the roady XT in my stratus, and it isn't bad over the FM, but i need to tune it to a different channel sometimes for clarity. I just really want the clean install factor.

I've been looking into it for a 99 and Sirius satelite radio. Seems like i'll just be getting a new head unit for that nice clean look as well as upgrading to allow for playing MP3 CD's and direct iPod hookup.

It'll cost a little more than just an addon however I think its worth it.

so, there is there no options for those of us who wish to keep the factory look and feel? What about installing a stereo from an A6 with satellite ability? Might this work or are the hookups different?

Hey guys go to the website I've listed below. It is a little pricy, but not nearly as bad as buying a new head unit. This is the best option if you have the hookups needed especially if you want a clean factory feel and control.

Hope it helps out.

Wow, that is exactly what i am looking for. But im also looking for that round 13-pin connector in the trunk. Its dark out now, and i have no idea where it is, but i'll look tomorrow. If anyone wishes to start me out with a good location tp search, i would really appreciate it.

And pkhuman78, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I hope this unit will work in my car

Ok, i can't find the round 13 pin connector in the trunk. Can anyone tell me where it would be if i have it? That way i know i am atleast looking in the right spot? There is a door on each side of the trunk, one had some speakers in it, so i assumed it would be in there, but i didn't see it.

After many attempts at looking for that connector, i just don't think i have it... Ok, does the radio have ANY inputs on it or am i limited to FM modulation at this stage. If that is the case, does anyone know of any XM receivers that transmit RDS information with the signal? Thanks

Have you checked the two side compartments in the trunk?

Also you cango to Best Buy and get a radio like a roady andinstead of having to try to tune a channel on the FM radio they can hardwire the XM radio right into the antenna behind thedeck. If you go that route all the work is done bya pro (wellas much of as a pro as Best Buy installers are) and you get a warranty on the work. As far as sound goes it will be better then tuning in an FM station but not as great as a direct connect. I am a 99 A6 and I am looking at what my options are too.
