V6A630v 03-25-2007, 08:26 PM HI ALL JUST THOUGHT ID LET YA KNOW IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS LIKE I HAVE HAD WITH YOUR WINDOWS NOT RISING AND ITS BECAUSE OF THEM STUPID PLASTIC WINDOW RUNNER CLIPS. DONT GLUE THEM OR BUY A NEW REGULATOR LIKE STEALERS WANT YOU TOO .
THE PART NUMBER YOU NEED TO GIVE THEM IS 4BO 837 463B. I HAVE BOUGHT SOME TODAY AT £ 1.90 + vat each!!!! AND THEY ARE STRONGER!!
auditech79 03-25-2007, 08:34 PM Yeah, that only works for the front windows though, the rears have to have the regulator replaced.
V6A630v 03-25-2007, 08:36 PM oh right, didnt know about that, aint had no probs with rears yet!! better touch some oak or something.!
Hey guys! Please tell me more!
My mom's A6s' front passenger window goes down fine but struggles to go up. You have to help it with your hand to go the last bit. A new regulator has been ordered and the car is going in on Thursday to have it fitted. Going to cost in excess of R2000 ($270) at Audi.
auditech79 03-27-2007, 03:45 AM You only need the plastic window blocks, you are wasting your money spending iton the regulator.
The deed has been done.
I phoned Audi and told them that I only want the window blocks. They politely told me that they only come as part of the whole regulator package. [:@]
It cost $270 for the regulator and installation. Was paid by our warranty though.
Anyways, it works fine now.
jessicak 04-03-2007, 03:25 PM Did you find them online? Are you going to replace them yourself or do you think a mechanice needs to do it? I have that problem with my front drivers side window. I have a 1999 A6 Quattro V6 30V.
Thanks!
The gaffer 04-03-2007, 03:39 PM I have the same prob on my passenger side window, what dealer did you purchase from because my dealer says i have to purchase the whole assembly..

jessicak 04-04-2007, 06:04 PM I just called Carousel Automotive in Minnesota and they told me it would be $390 to have them put new plastic window clips in one door...YIKES!!! I have never tried to fix anything on a car before, how difficult is it to fix them? If I follow the directions that V6A630v posted is it pretty easy to do? How difficult on a scale of 1 to 10? I'm trying to figure out if I can do it myself. Does anyone know how much they cost, where is the best place to purchase them?
The gaffer 04-04-2007, 06:20 PM Im goning to do mine, best thing to do is take the card off and have look, just take ye time..
vrso2 04-04-2007, 09:16 PM Hmm, can anybody, who ill replaced that plastic thing, make some pictures, how to do it on A6 ?
Thx :)
vrso2 04-04-2007, 09:19 PM Jeffla (http://www.audiforums.com/showProfile.asp?memid=25820), how much did u pay for it?
Jeffla 04-05-2007, 01:37 AM I paid $14.00 dollars, and plan to do the labor myself. I just did this on our BMW and it took around 3 hours. I will be doing mine soon, maybe next week, will take pictures for ya.
Jeff
The gaffer 04-05-2007, 08:43 AM good idea jefflla, as the pics that v6A630v posted are from the A4 and slightly differ from the A6...
vrso2 04-05-2007, 10:31 AM great job Jeffla !!!
mpw2.7T 04-07-2007, 09:30 PM Instructions for window guide replacement on the A6:
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int45.shtml
It's not a bad job. Just take your time, and make sure you mark the bolt and shim locations prior to removing the window frame.
Jeffla 04-07-2007, 10:21 PM Looks like I don't have to take any pictures now.
V6A630v 04-08-2007, 03:28 PM scale of 1 to 10 i would say about 4.! not hard just make sure you mark doors before removing framework. The pics i posted were for a a3 but i have an A6 and its the same just dont undue the regulator. its un needed. wind window NEARLY all the way down and you can get to remove clips easily and replace them. grease runners too while its apart.
The gaffer 04-18-2007, 12:08 PM Bump
Sorry to bump this thread but need it handy...[8D]
tj19855 05-25-2008, 07:17 PM I need the green plastic clib for my 02 A4 I dont want to buy they whole thing, can anyone get it for me or part number for the "right rear window".
ming4.2 05-25-2008, 07:31 PM Mine seams to do this only when the window gets wet. I was going to pull the panel and grease the rails. why would you need to replace them? Are they broken? I would think they jut get dried up after a while and require some lube.
