Default Trans fluid for 1996 A6

I'm planning on changing trans fluid in my 96 a6 (automatic) this saturday. Anyone have a clue how many quarts go into it? Also any advice about a trans that sometimes won't come out of first (until at proper operating temp).

If anyone is interested... I found out that for a fluid change (filter too)audi manuals call for roughly 2.5 litres. There are things floating around on the internet that call for 8 to 9 quarts. Thats for a flush or a bone dry trans. It sure would be a pisser if you bought 8 quarts (at $15 each) and only needed 3 or 4. Dealers won't take back the unused bottles... just another way audi likes to screw their customers. In addition I recommendreading the articles on the internet about trans fluid for Audi'sb/c they give great insight into the disasters that can happen. </P>

Audi says to never change the trans fluid b/c its a lifetime fluid. HAHAHAHA!!! That's another gimmick they've concocted to screw over the customer. They'll tell you that its a lifetime fluid but when your trans goes and you ask them who's gonna pay the $9,000 for a new trans you know what they'll say. "It's not b/c of the fluid so YOU have to pay"</P>
