Fuel gauge/pump problem?
 

I don't know whats wrong. Once my A4 gets to a half tank the needle drops to empty and the light comes on and dings then goes back to the actual level, and it keeps doing this over and over again fairly randomly. I tried to piece it together with how i was driving maybe? But no luck...
I heard it might be the fuel pump. It doesnt seem like it would be because the car runs and gets gas, so maybe its the float...I thought at first it might be the gauge but I'm just not sure...

If anyone has this problem or can give me some suggestions..Thanks

had that on my 98. Fuel leveler in the tank. The wires wear on it over time and they short out. Audi wanted few hundred bucks but the part was only like 40. I was gonna get it fixed, but then the pump went bad. They replaced, then i sold! haha

Where can you get it for 40? ill get it and do it myself..i seen it..not too hard..i hope

type in year and its under fuel delivery. This is the part you need. Fuel level sending unit.

This one is pricey. I found one on ebay once. Part number is on there. Maybe a junkyard would have it if you are lucky.
