Default 1999 A6 Q 2.8

OK, wierd things going on...

Had my car into dealer for 5 recalls. One of them was to check the ball joints. They "checked" out perfect. But shortly after the trip to the dealer I am getting a heavy creaking sound from the front right of the car? I actually pulled over to see if something was loose. Any thoughts?

Also, I am getting spikes in the HVAC.. have it set at 70 and intermittently it will blow on hight for 1-2 seconds and go back to normal. This is a new problem, and yes it is on the Auto setting. It won't register the spike on the fan speed indicator. anythoghts?

Also, this may be related to HVAC elec problems, but the wife said that all of a sudden the radi all of a sudden swithed to output only on the left side, then went back to normal?????????

greatly appreciate any help!

I do own the bently disc, so I just need to be pointed ina general direction????

Thanks,

steve Campbell

Default RE: 1999 A6 Q 2.8

creaking sound does not mean that they are worn out there need to be play in the ball joint for that service action that is not a recall it is a servive action the difference between the 2 a recall they have to replace the part a service action they will replace the part if it is worn or broken

not sure on the HVAC problem one thing I am thinking though is do u use the cipholder right above this ? I can see that if something has spilt on this causing it to act all funny and do wierd things

again with the coffee spills for the radio this has happened to me before using that cupholder I have gone though 2 climate control heads and 1 radio thank god for warrenty haha

Default Creaking?

If it occurs while turning you may want to look at your CV joints. Check to see if any boots are torn and service them immediately.
