DOOR SPEAKERS
 

Blew out the right front door speaker in my '00 A6 Avant. Audi Symphony sound. Buzzes real bad.....Haven't taken the grill off yet. Too many 'home' projects. What type / size speaker is in there? Crutchfield apparently hasn't taken an A6 apart yet to know what it has.

I just posted a bulletin about this... Hope someone replies this time! hehe. I believe they are 6.5" speakers - saw em on a metric site as 165mm... but that could be wrong... Hehe!

I think you are right on the 6.5" speaker. The only thing is that you need an adapter to fit the speaker in the door. The original speaker has three mounting points, kind of like a triangle shape. Check out www.crutchfield.com they have the adapter available and you can look up your vehicle for specific fitments.

Thanks mrracing! So, the adapters will allow for four mounting points instead of three?

I've been hunting for the Adapters too. When you search for A6 fitments of any kind at crutchfield they havent done Audi a6s ... I've blown my speaker in a non bose Audi and I just wanna replace it. Can you tell me which Adapter to pick up.. ThanX
